    Central America necklace

Central America traditional art inspired necklace

This necklace is inspired from the folk and tribal traditional art of the region of Central America (and even going more to the South).

Most of the folk art in that area is defined by very "earthy" colors.

To obtain the effect I used in this necklace, you have two choices: Souffle by Sculpey and Fimo Professional. Of course, Souffle is a much softer clay than Fimo and will require less conditioning but will also have the disadvantage of maybe getting too soft to work with and needing to be put in the fridge for a while.

So, here are the recommended colors in order to obtain the earthy feeling of Central America.

    For the main Skinner blend:

    - for Souffle make a Cinnamon/Pumpkin/Canary blend with just a touch of the Cinnamon and the Canary at the edges, both of the edge colors being part of the blend, not left pure.

    - for Fimo Professional, make the same type of Skinner blend, using Terracotta/Ochre/Yellow, the same as above

For the colors in the cane:

    - Souffle: Canary, Sea Glass, Igloo, Robin's Egg, Pistachio,Pumpkin, Poppy Seed

    - Fimo Professional: True Yellow, Leaf Green, 1:1 mix of Turquoise/Dolphin Grey, 2:1 mix of Orange/ Dolphin Grey, 1:1 mix of True Green/Dolphin Grey, White, Black

There is a separate tutorial on the cane itself, that you can find in the "advanced cane tutorials", HERE

Want to see  even more interesting tutorials? I love sharing what I know, but I need materials to create. As a disabled cancer survivor I cannot afford to buy much, and sometimes it's an effort to buy just the polymer clay I need.
