The sanding part is the part that most polymer clay artists and crafters absolutely dread. Especially for the ones of us more advanced in age, that puts a strain on our hands and can cause pain. I, like so many other artists and crafters, tried it. And this is my honest review.
It is made out of plastic and is actually very flimsy. My first one broke after less than 8 months. I contacted the company, they sent me a replacement as I was in the 1 year warranty. The replacement broke in a month. I contacted the company again and they didn't answer until it was past the 1 year from the original purchase. Telling me that I should have contacted them by email not on their facebook page and that 1 year is gone tough luck. To note that for the first replacement, I had contacted them on their facebook page.
As for how it works:
Yes, you can sand with it. It's fairly light to hold in the hand. But the vibrations are quite damaging in terms of gettng your hands painful.
The "soft pad" always loses the velcro and doesn't last for long.
It's cordless, and it goes through batteries at a very speedy rate.
At one point, I saw the owner of the company advertising on Facebook a "facial exfoliator wand". I went and looked, also went to the Temki website, and guess what? it was the Polyfast but with a couple other attachments, and in a white color not a blue.
So, in short, I realized that all that the company did was to get a flimsy, poor quality, probably Chinese made facial exfoliator wand, dub it "polymer clay sander", do at least a 10xprice up, and sell it to us.
So, my review on this product:
Cons:
flimsy
attachment soft pad loses velcro
you'll spend a fortune on batteries
breaks very fast
very expensive for the quality and the benefits you get from it.
Pros:
Yeah, you can sand with it. Before it breaks.
I did find a better solution for sanding without hurting your hands. You can read the article HERE.
